If you thought that what you see is what you get in Black Ops 4 Blackout, then you’re mistaken. Treyarch is trying hard to refine the battle royale mode as much as possible. On that note, the developers are remaking the looting UI, to match the mode’s intense and detailed gameplay. If you had issues with the looks of the looting and stashing previously, then you’ll be content to find out that those changes are already underway.
The new looting UI in Black Ops 4 Blackout was first teased by David Vonderhaal, design director of the game. In general, Treyarch is releasing an update in which dead player stashes are becoming easier and faster to loot.
Right now, the looting system in Blackout works like this: in a 2×5 grid you can pick one item at a time and scroll down to access more. After the update, Treyarch will most possibly make the grid bigger and let you stash items that you loot. This will give you more space, especially if you’re a perk loot hoarder kind of player. Here’s the screenshot Vonderhaal shared to tease the new feature:
The fact that Treyarch is tweaking such a small yet important part of Black Ops 4 Blackout sure is admirable. Despite the complaints about the game’s performance and bugs here and there, the developers are doing a great job fixing issues.
We already know that the Black Ops 4 Blackout map will be changing looks every now and then, probably much like the Fortnite map does. This means that the game will receive frequent updates and tweaks for a long time still.
Don’t forget that analyst expectations want Blackout to become standalone and free to play at some point this year. This isn’t official in any way but Activision sure does need a good thing or too right now.
