Players on Call of Duty BO4 are raging right now over a new issue in the game. As it seems, the Black Ops 4 server rates have dropped a lot since its Beta. According to measurements, on Beta it was 60Hz and now it is 20Hz. It’s only natural for the community to start complaining about it.
Over at Reddit, the Black Ops 4 server rates issue is boiling. A user has provided information on the matter, saying that he meassured the send rates and have come to 20Hz compared to the 60Hz client rate. He also provided graphs to prove his point, coming from different areas.
Black Ops 4 server rates (green) and client rates (red) from Atlanta GA:
The user, named Smcro has also added as reported by Eurogamer:
“The server send rate has been lowered from 60hz to 20hz causing more inconsistency compared to the beta due to the fact that there is (on average) triple the amount of time between server updates. Also, it would seem that matchmaking sometimes chooses servers that are undesirable in terms of latency. It would be nice to have the ability to whitelist server locations which give the best experience to prevent this from happening.”
There’s still no responce to the Black Ops 4 server rates issue by Treyarch. Given the fact that they have locked the Blackout FPS on the first days of launch, it wouldn’t surprise us if this happens to ensure smooth performance of the game during its first weeks.
We’ll let you know if more information rises about the issue. For the time being, the game runs smoothly and with no issues, so there’s no reason to stress over it. There should be an official statement from the developers soon enough.
