Black Ops Cold War Season 4: New Maps

The launch of Season 4 for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War features one of the largest releases of new maps so far. Not only are three new maps going to be available on launch day, but two alternate variants of those maps will also be available for smaller modes. The first new map is Collateral; the satellite crash site showcased in the Season 4 cinematic trailer.

Located in Algeria, this new 12v12 map takes place around an abandoned village and an oil drilling facility. A smaller variant of the map, entitled Collateral Strike, is also available for 6v6 modes. The key difference is that while the Strike version is infantry-only, the full 12v12 map includes vehicle support.

The second new map is Amsterdam, a new Gunfight map designed for 2v2 and 3v3 game modes. This map takes place on the urban rooftops of the Dutch capital, with lots of cover and height variations between buildings. Finally, Hijacked (6v6) is the third new map which will be available at launch. This classic map first appeared in Black Ops II, and its latest incarnation should be familiar to gamers who played the older title. Taking place aboard a superyacht, the map is bright, with an open sky, but packed with cover on deck.

The fourth new map coming later in Season 4 is another classic returning from Black Ops II. Another 6v6 map, Rush is based on an indoor paintball practice ground. The environment is a mix of narrow pathways and open halls with scattered cover. Rush is the last map to have been announced for the time being. However, it’s entirely possible that more maps will actually launch later in Season 4, such as when the Reloaded update arrives.
