Steam Summer Sale is over, and many of us bought some great games during it. There were some big titles available at considerably lower prices, which we took full advantage. However, did you ever wonder how it went? Or even better, which games were sold more than others? Valve is here to answer all of these questions for us.
Valve decided to release a list of the best-selling games of the year. The games on the list are divided into four categories based on their success. Unfortunately, we do not know the exact numbers each game was sold. However, the groups are an excellent way to at least determine which was sold more than the others were.
The categories are the following:
- Platinum (a lot)
- Silver and Gold (many)
- Bronze (less than Silver)
Among the successful games, Borderlands 2 made it to Valve’s list. It is placed in the Bronze category. That means that it sold less than Silver but still more than a few copies. Not bad for a 2012 video game. Considering the rumors about a third addition to the Borderlands franchise, you can imagine the popularity of the second one. However, its price was pretty low. Therefore it was the best chance to buy it for anyone who wanted to try the franchise.
The 2018 new releases that made it to the Platinum list are also worth mentioning. Among them were the following:
- Far Cry 5
- Warhammer: Vermintide 2
- Final Fantasy XV
- GTA V
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance
- Jurassic World Evolution
- Dragonball Fighter Z
The Borderlands franchise continues making its way through the gamers community. Offers like Steam Summer Sale will keep distributing the older titles of the franchise at reasonably lower prices. With Borderlands 3 on its way, it is better for you to catch up with the previous titles and take full advantage of sales like this.
