The month of October, 2019, marks the ten-year anniversary of the release of the original Borderlands, back in 2009. With Borderlands 3 having launched less than a month ago, Gearbox are celebrating the occasion with a full month of week-long events, each offering fans something different in the latest edition of the franchise. The first of these is Boss Week, which offers players a greater chance of Legendary drops from certain bosses.
Borderlands’ Anniversary Celebrations: Borderlands 3 Boss Week
“As of now, Boss Week is live,” states Gearbox; “which will be active until October 8, 2019 at 8:59 AM PDT when the following week’s theme begins. During Boss Week, some bosses will have an increased chance to drop a unique Legendary item. […] If you’re looking to expand your collection of unique Legendary loot, make sure to drop in on all those bosses and make them wish they’d never messed with you and your Vault Hunter pals.”
Boss Week is just the first of five weeks of events. For now, the remaining four events are under wraps, but fans can guess at what their themes will be based on their titles; “Rare Spawn Hunt,” “Show Me the Eridium,” “Mayhem on Twitch,” and “Spooky Surprise”. Certainly, the last event seems likely to coincide with the upcoming Halloween event coming towards the end of October. For now though, players 13 different bosses to hunt down for a chance at Legendary drops. These bosses, and their associated items, are as follows. (Of course, there’s no guarantee that they will drop these items. However, the chances should be much higher than normal.)

- KillaVolt (Brainstormer)
- Gigamind (Nagata)
- Katagawa Ball (Rectifier)
