The third of four planned story DLCs for Borderlands 3, Bounty of Blood is now available to download and play. The DLC, which features a brand-new story and setting, complete with an all-new cast of characters, also adds a major new vehicle to Borderlands 3. Plus, a patch launching alongside Bounty of Blood is raising the game’s maximum level to 60.
The Borderlands 3 Bounty of Blood DLC
“The Sheriff of Vestige on the frontier planet of Gehenna has issued a bounty on the Devil Riders gang,” writes Gearbox; “and it’s time to collect. The violent, beast-riding mercenaries have been harassing the townsfolk, and their unwanted attention is taking such a tool that the locals have started turning to outsiders for help.”
Bounty of Blood is the third major Borderlands 3 DLC, following on from Guns, Love, and Tentacles. As such, it’s included with the game’s Season Pass. In the new DLC, players can unlock and use the new Jetbeast vehicle and set off on a decidedly Western-themed story, complete with its own narrator. The new planet itself, Gehenna, also presents its fair share of challenges. The world has an array of unusual flora which can provide boons in combat if you use them correctly.
To access Bounty of Blood, you simply need to have access to Sanctuary III. Like the two previous story DLCs, Bounty of Blood can be undertaken at any level, so long as players have access to Sanctuary III and thus, can travel between planets. In fact, you can even choose to start a new game directly into the DLC. When you opt to start a new game, you can now choose which storyline you want to start, one of which will be Bounty of Blood. Alongside Bounty of Blood, Gearbox is raising the maximum Vault Hunter level in Borderlands 3 to 60. Note that this change is part of a free patch, so you don’t need to buy the new DLC to benefit from it.
