Borderlands 3 Farming Frenzy Mini-Event Announced by Gearbox

Alongside the Borderlands 3 Takedown event, which was delayed earlier this month and which will be launching tomorrow, Gearbox today announced another so-called ‘mini-event’ for the same time period. The Borderlands 3 Farming Frenzy min-event will be live from tomorrow, the 16th of January, to the 30th. Throughout its duration, the mini-event will feature increased drop rates and more Rare Spawns, giving players greater incentive to farm certain enemies.

The Borderlands 3 Farming Frenzy Mini-Event

“Are you ready to get your farm on, Vault Hunter?” writes Gearbox; “No, not the turd farming of Typhon DeLeon’s resourceful ancestry; we’re talking about battling bosses and unique enemies to earn some of Borderlands 3’s best loot.”

Throughout the Borderlands 3 Farming Frenzy, which Gearbox is describing as a ‘mini-event,’ farming certain enemies will be a bit more rewarding. All repeatable bosses from the main campaign, Circle of Slaughter, and Proving Grounds, as well as all Rare Spawns, Hammerlock Hunts, and Targets of Opportunity will be more likely to drop Legendary items from their loot pools. In addition, the drop rate for Anointed gear will also be increased during the event. Note that bosses from the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite are included in this; a further incentive to do the Takedown during the delayed event, which will be live during the same time.

Borderlands 3 Farming Frenzy Mini-Event Launches Tomorrow 2

In addition to increased loot, the Farming Frenzy mini-event will also make it more likely for Rare Spawns to appear. As such, players shouldn’t have to spend as long farming in order to claim their best loot drops. The mini-event will go live tomorrow, at 9:00 AM PST on the 16th of January. It will officially conclude two weeks later at 8:59 PST on the 30th. Notably, these start and end times are identical to those of the Takedown event. That event was originally due to take place at the start of January, but a last-minute delay means that it will be launching tomorrow instead.
