The latest patch for Borderlands 3 has now gone live across all platforms, and while its primary purpose is to enable the new Slot Machine Mania and Trials Take-All events, it also includes a few balance changes. Continuing a trend of Gearbox buffing Legendary guns, five more weapons received improvements, along with Hyperion weapon shields and Moze.
What’s Changed in the Latest Borderlands 3 Patch?
The headline feature of this Borderlands 3 patch is, of course, the two new events. As Co-op Loot Drop continues, Gearbox plans to launch new mini-events in the game every week. With this patch, the Takedown Shakedown and Door Busters events have come to an end, and the new Slot Machine Mania and Trials Take-All events are now live. The first of these mini-events increases the chance to win Legendary gear from slot machines. (While also increasing the chances of a grenade spawning.) Meanwhile, the latter boosts Proving Ground Trials rewards, ensuring that bosses have a 100% chance to drop loot from their respective loot pools. Both events will be active until 9:00 AM PT on the 9th of April.
In addition, the new patch features a range of balancing changes. Firstly, several of Moze’s skills should now be better, with Gearbox focusing on boosting her survivability. Iron Bear’s cooldown has been reduced, while its fuel amount has simultaneously gone up. The bonuses granted by her Behind the Iron Curtain, Experimental Munitions, and Security Bear skills also received increases.
As for weapons, this patch includes a general increase in the amount of damage which Hyperion weapon shields can absord. As such, these shields should prove more reliable. Five Legendary weapons also had buffs. Firstly, The Damned’s base damage has gone up somewhat. Meanwhile, Gearbox has given The Lob a boost to its fire rate, and it now fires 1 projectile instead of 3. Tiggs Boom and Moonfire both got damage boosts; the former should also now deal increased damage with its Starfall meteors, while the latter has a better Critical Damage bonus now. Finally, the Good Juju’s non-critical hits will now increase its critical damage bonus by 20%. This buff can stack up to 25 times. However, you’ll lose it whenever you manually reload.
