Following its recent postponement, Gearbox has announced that the upcoming Borderlands 3 Takedown mission will launch tomorrow, on the 11th of June. The Takedown will also be launching alongside a major game update, including the long-awaited Mayhem 2.0 rework.
Borderlands 3 Takedown at the Guardian Breach
The Borderlands 3 Takedown at the Guardian Breach was originally due on the 4th of June. However, Gearbox chose to postpone the release in solidarity with the recent protests. Now, the Takedown and accompanying update will be launching tomorrow instead. Takedown at the Guardian Breach will be the second Takedown mission to come to Borderlands 3 since launch, following on from Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite.
While the new Takedown will feature the new planet of Minos Prime, new bosses, and new loot, it will also be launching alongside the Mayhem 2.0 update; a long-awaited rework for Borderlands 3’s endgame Mayhem mode. Mayhem 2.0 will be introducing a significant range of alterations to the mode, including a whole selection of new difficulty modifiers. 13 minutes of Mayhem 2.0 gameplay was revealed by Gearbox two month ago, giving players a detailed look at the new changes in action.
Takedown at the Guardian Breach and Mayhem 2.0 aren’t the only new releases coming to Borderlands 3 this month. In a few weeks’ time, on the 25th of June, Gearbox will be releasing Bounty of Blood; the game’s third major story DLC. Featuring a new planet, new enemies, and plenty of new loot, Bounty of Blood follows on from the events of Guns, Love, and Tentacles; the last story DLC. It will be the first Borderlands 3 DLC to feature a totally new cast; both of the previous DLC releases featured at least one returning character. In fact, a teaser for DLC 4 suggests that the Psycho vault hunter Krieg will be making a reappearance. Bounty of Blood will instead have a cast of new characters.
