Earlier today, following on from the latest episode of The Borderlands Show, Gearbox announced their next Borderlands 3 in-game event; the Borderlands 3 Takedown Shakedown event. As the name implies, this new event focuses on the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite, offering much better drop chances for its boss loot. While this “mini-event” was launched immediately, it will only be available for one week.
The Borderlands 3 Takedown Shakedown Event
The Borderlands 3 Takedown Shakedown event is live right now in Borderlands 3. However, the event will be ending at 8:59 AM PDT on the 2nd of April, in roughly one week’s time. According to Respawn; “We know that, due to current world events, a lot of you are stuck at home and looking for something fun to do in the here and now. We wanted to do our part to bring a bit of extre entertainment to you and the entire Borderlands community, so we’re starting a new event as of today: Takedown Shakedown.”
Categorised as a “mini”-event rather than a full event, Takedown Shakedown doesn’t feature any new content. However, it does offer boosted loot drop chances for the mini-bosses and end boss encounters in the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite mission. This adjustment means that you’re much more likely to get high-quality loot from the Takedown bosses. Note, too, that this event applies to all versions of the Takedown, whether you’re playing solo or with a squad.
Borderlands fans have plenty to look forward to in the next couple of days as well, thanks to the impending launch of Guns, Love, and Tentacles; the second major story DLC for Borderlands 3. This new DLC will be launching tomorrow, on the 26th of March. It features new story content, new enemies, and a whole new planet; Xylourgos. Plus, it also features the return of Gaige, the DLC Vault Hunter from Borderlands 2, who plays a key role in the Guns, Love, and Tentacles storyline.
