Latest Borderlands 3 Update Brings Bloody Harvest Event to an End

The long-ongoing Borderlands 3 Bloody Harvest event, which began back in October, has finally come to an end as of the latest round of hotfixes. Bloody Harvest was the first seasonal event to come to the game and lasted over a month, featuring a new Halloween-themed area, and several new mechanics. Now, with the event over, Gearbox are readying for the upcoming release of the first story DLC; Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot.

The First Borderlands 3 Update of December

“With this hotfix, the Bloody Harvest event is fading from Borderlands 3,” explains Gearbox, in the Borderlands 3 update’s patch notes; “As the event ends, you will no longer see Haunted enemies, travel to Heck, or be able to complete Bloody Harvest challenges until the spooky season returns next year!”

Borderlands 3 Update Bloody Harvest Event Now Over

Gearbox began to wind down the event several weeks ago, when an update began to reduce the number of Haunted enemies. Now, the event is officially over. Of course, the latest update does also contain a new batch of fixes and tweaks. FL4K’s Jabber pet, for instance, has had its volume reduced. Elsewhere, Gearbox have fixed places on Pandora where players could escape the map, along with other specific issues. If you’ve been hoping for something to be fixed, be sure to check the patch notes to see if it’s included.

According to Gearbox, this will be the last Borderlands 3 update before the addition of Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot, which will be implemented in a patch later this month. (That DLC is due to release on the 19th of December.) Gearbox also states that this upcoming patch will address some issues raised by players, including issues with Guardian Rank. It will also add extra vending machines to Skywell-27, among other things. At present, it’s unknown whether Gearbox plans to repeat the format of Bloody Harvest for future seasonal events. However, the studio does note that; “We’re taking what we’ve seen and heard from this event and are exploring how to apply these learnings in the next one.”
