God of War has no shortage of collectibles. From the Lost Toys in the game’s opening area to the Faces of Magic and many more, Santa Monica Studio’s latest game is packed full of collectible sets. The Bottoms Up set is one such group of collectibles which can be found in the Mountain.
Unlike many other games, collectible sets in God of War are often worth finding. While collectibles are often purely about completion, those in God of War offer both XP rewards and can be sold for Hacksilver. As a result, going out of your way to find these hidden items is usually worth your time.
The Bottoms Up Artifact Set
The set of artifacts grouped under the name “Bottoms Up” are five drinking cups. The easiest way to collect these cups is during the “Inside the Mountain” chapter, as you pass through the area for the first time. If you don’t collect them then, you will have to wait until later in the game for a chance to return to the area.
The first of the five drinking cups is found shortly after you enter the Mountain, after you get past the Black Breath. When you first enter a throne room containing a statue with the head of a deer, head through the door on the right. Continue through the chambers beyond until you come upon a Nornir chest. The first cup is opposite the chest on the other side of the chamber, behind some breakable debris.
Passing further into the subterranean area, you will need to use an elevator to enter The Heart of the Mountain. To create the elevator, you must move a cart, and doing so will open up a path through a spiked door. Smash the door open, and the second cup will be waiting for you inside.
Following the boss-fight against Hraezlyr and your conversation with Sindri, you will head back into the Mountain. Continue on until you come upon a basket and a Shatter Crystal. The third of the drinking cups is located in a small space behind the basket. The fourth cup is only a short distance away. Once you pass along a snow-covered ridge you should find a path that is blocked by Hel-bramble. Take a left turn and along that path you will find the fourth cup.
The Fifth Cup
Unfortunately, the final cup cannot be retrieved during your first journey through the Mountain. You will need to wait until you return to the Mountain for the “Return to the Summit” quest. This time, when you enter the Mountain, turn left in the throne room. Continue until you reach the elevator chamber, then look to your left for a sap wall beneath a platform. The fifth of the drinking cups can be found behind that wall.
With all five cups in your possession, you will complete the Bottoms Up set. This will earn you a lump sum of XP, in addition to the individual XP rewards you will have gained for each recovered cup. Don’t forget that you can safely sell the cups to the game’s vendors for Hacksilver without affecting your completion.
