Following the recent release of The Hunter and The Beast DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2, Creative Assembly revealed the next item on their DLC roadmap; the addition of famed adventuring duo Gotrek and Felix. This pair, who have starred in numerous Warhammer novels, will be coming to the game for free next month as part of a special Total War: Warhammer 2 Gotrek and Felix DLC. Moreover, the studio has now revealed that Gotrek Gurnisson will be voiced by none other than Brian Blessed.
The Total War: Warhammer 2 Gotrek and Felix DLC
The addition of Gotrek and Felix to Total War: Warhammer has been something which fans have been hoping for for a very long time. With Gotrek making his debut in Games Workshop’s Age of Sigmar universe this month, it seems that Creative Assembly has partnered with them to simultaneously bring Gotrek (and his companion Felix) to their game. Fans who buy the September issue of White Dwarf, the Warhammer magazine, can get a code to download Gotrek and Felix for free. The small expansion will be free for everybody else to download from Total War Access on the 17th of October.
When it comes to voice casting, Brian Blessed certainly seems like a perfect choice for the role of Gotrek Gurnisson. The British screen and stage actor’s career goes back to the 1960s and has included now-famous appearances in films like Flash Gordon and Star Wars, and also a number of games. He had a role in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, for example, and also played Konrad Kyeser in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. This isn’t even the first Total War game that he will have provided a voice for! Blessed voiced the narrator for Rome Total War: Alexander back in 2006.
The Total War: Warhammer 2 Gotrek and Felix DLC casts the famous duo as special recruitable characters for the Empire, Bretonnia, and Dwarfs factions. Players can find them at a special quest marker, which adds Gotrek to their faction as a unique Lord and Felix as a Hero in his army. The pair are under your control for 20 turns, after which, they depart to travel elsewhere. However, they will eventually return with more experience to work for you again.
