The next time you are fighting in Apex Legends near a waterfall, you may want to be mindful of your position. Right now, bugged waterfalls in Apex Legends are making for some uneven and unusual fighting conditions. Depending on what side of the water you are on, you might find yourself with an advantage or disadvantage.
How Bugged Waterfalls in Apex Legends are Behaving
Below, you can watch a video of a bugged waterfall in action as posted by Reddit user Haxxor1.
In the video, Lifeline is unable to shoot through a waterfall with a Charge Rifle. Alas, the opponent team is able to shoot through the waterfall from the other side.
While this is probably a glitch, one cannot be certain. After all, one Reddit user responded, “Doesn’t the charge rifle shoot energy the water was cooling it off duh.” That is not a bad theory. But it looks like another member of Lifeline’s team was running into the same issue with a different weapon. So, it probably is a bug.
Nevertheless, this led to an interesting discussion about possibilities. Reddit user SadCrocodyle pointed out, “Wouldn’t it be cool if you could shoot charge rifle at water and instantly create a smoke cover?”
How prevalent is this issue with the waterfalls? We still don’t know yet. Regardless, if you find yourself at a waterfall, you might want to test how your ammo responds to it from both sides if you get a moment. That way, you can make the best of it during a fight.
Hopefully Respawn is looking into this issue with bugged waterfalls in Apex Legends. Who knows—maybe they will also be intrigued by the smoke cover concept. It would be cool if a bug led to an interesting new feature in the game, wouldn’t it? We will keep you posted on this glitch and other important updates in our Apex Legends news.
