If you’re not caught up with Destiny 2, Bungie recently added a brand new location called European Aeriel Zone EAZ. It’s a floating area up in the clouds on Earth. The best thing about this area would probably be the dynamic weather. Getting sunset vibes and then it transitions into the blacked-out night is the best – Kudos to Bungie on that. While this area is visually stunning just like any other area in Destiny 2, there are some flaws which could’ve been fixed if Bungie didn’t want to make the grind so long.
If you’re a regular Destiny 2 player, you might have acquired at least one Majestic Armor Set of Solstice of Heroes. It looks so good – no questions about that! But, when it comes to the grind, there may have been some letdowns in that area. Every armor piece has its own set of challenges/objectives you need to complete in order to acquire the next tier armor set (Drained, Renewed, and Majestic).
Solstice Armor Sets
Drained Armor pieces have not-so-hard objectives – which can be done in less than 3-4 hours. These challenges include completing Public Events, playing the Crucible, Strikes, and looting European Aeriel Zone Chests.
Some of the challenges are fairly easy while others are hard and time-consuming. Take Patrols, for example, you can complete them in under an hour. But completing 10 Gambit matches or getting Strikes grind done would probably take a bunch of your time of day.
The most annoying challenge of this armor set that is ruining the newly added European Aerial Zone is getting 100 Mini-bosses to kill in EAZ. This may sound not-so-terrible – but believe me, it really is! When you can only 4-5 mini-bosses kills per run (6 to 7 if you’re lucky), this grind becomes pretty annoying after 6-7 EAZ runs.
Recently, players have found a workaround on this part of the grind. Players are now just backing out from the lobby after the mini-boss phase is over and the main boss is spawned. After that, they just re-queue to EAZ and get as many mini-bosses kills as they can before leaving at the main boss fight.
Now, every time I run EAZ, two of my Fireteam members just leave the game at the very annoying boss fight.
How To Fix EAZ
There is fairly an easy fix to this. Reducing the number of mini-bosses kills you need down to 50. Another fix would be if every kill counted even if it was your Fireteam member who got it. Bungie needs to fix this as soon as they possibly can because this step is just ruining the EAZ experience for most of us.
