Ahead of the game’s release date in just over two weeks’ time, Activision today released the official Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launch trailer. The trailer highlights both campaign cutscene footage and multiplayer gameplay, although it does focus more on the single-player.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Launch Trailer
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War officially releases on the 13th of November, in less than three weeks’ time. This new launch trailer gives players a glimpse of more cutscenes from the single-player Campaign, which will be a direct sequel to the story of the original Black Ops game. “A mind-bending single-player Campaign awaits,” writes Activision; “with Black Ops protagonists Alex Mason, Frank Woods, and Jason Hudson teaming up with an all-new crew to track down a mysterious enemy known only as Perseus.”
However, while the Campaign does offer plenty of high-quality cutscenes which look good in trailers, most players will likely be more interested in the game’s Multiplayer offerings. When it comes to this area, Black Ops Cold War looks set to deliver more than enough. “In the next generation of Black Ops Multiplayer,” explains Activision; “travel the globe from the deserts of Angola to the frigid Black Sea in a fully-connected, cross-play experience including 6v6, 12v12, and 40-player Fireteam battles”. Of course, players have already had the chance to try out the Multiplayer during the Alpha and Beta events.
Of course, Black Ops Cold War also features the return of Zombies; a mode which is likely to be a major selling point for plenty of gamers. This mode will feature the debut of a brand-new Zombies story known as Dark Aether. The first chapter of this story, Die Maschine, will be available at launch, with more chapters coming post-launch. Indeed, Dark Aether will be the first Black Ops mode to allow players to use the same Operators and weapons that they would normally unlock for use in Multiplayer.
