Ahead of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer reveal, around 15 minutes of multiplayer footage has been accidentally leaked online. Of course, Activision has swiftly been attempting to take down the footage. However, it has nonetheless spread on social media, giving fans an earlier-than-planned look at the upcoming game.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer Leak
The Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer leak appears to have been the result of a streamer mistakenly going live while playing an early-access version of the game. The streamer broadcast for around 15 minutes before realising, and that footage quickly spread online. According to sources familiar with the lead-up to tomorrow’s reveal, Activision had asked various streamers to record early-access gameplay footage; presumably what this streamer was doing at the time.

The leaked gameplay footage has, of course, since been taken down. However, it was up long enough for fans to get a good look at the game, take screenshots, and share clips on social media. The gameplay HUD, for example, is significantly different to that of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The footage also shows off some of the game’s weapons, and one of its multiplayer maps.
The official Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer reveal is due to take place later this week, on the 9th of September. Fans can expect to get a better look at the upcoming multiplayer then. Indeed, the event may also feature a look at what may be coming to Warzone alongside the release. (Rumours suggest that the game will be getting a new map, among other things.) Additionally, it’s likely that Activision might use the event to announce the first Black Ops Cold War closed alpha. The Red Door closed alpha, which was leaked several weeks ago, still has yet to be officially announced, after all.
