Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 1 is due to start in just over one week’s time, and while much of its upcoming content is still under wraps, images of the new seasonal maps appear to have leaked online. The low-res images appear to show four new multiplayer maps, along with a Christmas-themed reskin of the Nuketown ’84 map.
Black Ops Cold War Season 1 Maps Leaked
The leaked images were recently posted online in a since-deleted tweet by Call of Duty Leaks, revealing stills of the maps likely to launch with Black Ops Cold War Season 1. Thus far, Treyarch hasn’t revealed any details about these upcoming maps, so it’s impossible to verify whether the leak is accurate. However, they do look fairly convincing. Given the timing of the leak, the odds are good that they are indeed real screenshots.
The first of the two images shows snippets of four multiplayer maps. These range from a subway station and Russian office building – both of which may be based on areas from the game’s single-player campaign – to a missile launch silo and even what seems to be the set of a rather amusingly-named 80s-style gameshow called; “What do the Numbers Mean?” A fifth image, separate from the others, features a mall complex called; “Mall at the Pines.”
Presumably, some or all of these maps will be launching with the start of Black Ops Cold War Season 1. The second image, however, shows part of the Nuketown ’84 map with what appears to be a seasonal, Christmas-themed reskin. While it’s possible that this map variant will also become available at the start of Season 1, it’s also possible that Treyarch plans to make it playable as a limited-time map variant later in December.
Alongside the leaked map images, the leaker also showed off a horror-themed cosmetic skin. This, they guessed, could likely be a Tier 100 skin for the game’s next Battle Pass. Plus, they revealed that a new mode called Dropkick would be coming to the game, quite possibly in Season 1. For now though, fans will have to wait a little bit longer before these leaks can be verified.
