Season 5 is due to start in both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone in just two days’ time, on the 5th of August. Ahead of the launch, Activision today released a brand-new Season 5 trailer, showcasing some of the new content which will be coming to the two games.
The New Modern Warfare Season 5 Trailer
Thus far, Activision hasn’t revealed too much about Modern Warfare Season 5. The biggest reveal thus far has been that of Shadow Company; a new multiplayer faction which will be coming to the game with three new Operators. However, until today, Activision hadn’t offered any glimpses at the new maps and other content coming in Season 5. The new season trailer changes that.
To start, the trailer showcases changes coming to the Warzone Verdansk map. The most notable addition appears to be a huge, armoured supply train which will traverse the map; an addition reminiscent of the train from Apex Legends’ Worlds Edge map. From there, the trailer moves to Modern Warfare multiplayer, showcasing a series of new maps which will be coming to the game during Season 5. The first of these Suldal Harbour, a 6v6 map set in the dockside warehouses of Suldal, Urzikstan.
Next up is a new Ground War map; Verdansk International Airport, which takes a portion of the existing Verdansk map and repurposes it for Ground War. The third new map is much smaller. Livestock is a new Gunfight map set in the Eastern Farmlands of Kastovia. Finally, the trailer shows off another 6v6 multiplayer map called Petrov Oil Rig. After running through the various maps, the trailer turns to cosmetics and new Operators, showing off the three new Shadow Company characters. It’s currently unknown whether all three will be available at launch, or whether their releases will be staggered throughout Season 5.
