Although Activision has had plenty of announcements in the last couple of weeks for the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, that doesn’t mean that things are on hold for their existing Call of Duty games. Today, the studio announced the impending launch of Season 6 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone, coming next week.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 6
“Zakhaev’s plan takes a turn as two familiar faces uncover more about Mr. Z’s underground network and operations in Verdansk,” writes Activision; “Farah and Nikolai both re-enter the fight to help long-time ally Captain Price with the ongoing conflict following the breakdown of the Armistice.”
Season 6, which will see the addition of Farah Ahmed Karim and Nikolai as playable Operators, will be launching for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone on the 29th of September; next Tuesday. Both Operators will be joining the Allegiance forces as members of Chimera, a private military company aligned with the organisation (indeed, Nikolai is the leader of Chimera). Both characters played a role in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare single-player campaign. While Nikolai has a history in the series, Farah was a new character, and also one of the game’s playable protagonists. She is the last such protagonist to become a playable Operator.
Thus far, neither Activision nor Infinity Ward has revealed what else will be coming in Season 6. However, the trailer indicates the addition of some sort of subterranean map. As per usual, Season 6 will feature a Battle Pass with 100 tiers of rewards. These will include both Farah and Nikolai and 1300 COD points, among plenty of additional content. Of course, with many details still under wraps, Modern Warfare and Warzone players should stay tuned for more information. Activision is likely to release more details about Season 6 in the next couple of days.
