Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One is due to begin tomorrow, on the 3rd of December, and ahead of the launch, Activision have released a brief trailer showcasing some of the upcoming content. Only offering a few glimpses of what’s to come, the trailer highlights the new maps, new weapons, and new modes which players can expect.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One Trailer
Activision recently unveiled the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One content roadmap, outlining the major content releases coming in the first official season. Although this content will largely be free, there is expected to be a Battle Pass, similar to other titles like Apex Legends, for example. The focus of the first season is decidedly on multiplayer, offering players a wide range of new maps and game modes. While Modern Warfare’s pre-release marketing may have focused heavily on the single-player campaign, the game is unlikely to get any post-launch campaign content. After all, barely one-third of players have even completed the campaign.
When it comes to game modes, players can expect three new modes; Reinforce, Infected, and Gunfight OSP. Additionally, there will be four new missions coming to the co-op Spec Ops mode; Bomb Squad, Grounded, Just Reward, and Pitch Black. It’s worth noting too that this is only what Activision has announced for the season launch. There will reportedly be some additional content coming later in the season as well.
The biggest new addition coming to Modern Warfare, however, is the array of new maps. Players will be getting three new multiplayer maps, all of which are actually remakes of classic maps from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare; Crash, Shipment and Vacant. There will also be two new maps for Gunfight; Cargo and Atrium. Finally, there will be a major new Ground War map coming to the game called Port. Once again, this is only the initial batch of new maps; Activision has said that there will be more coming later in Season One.
