Activision recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of the release of Call of Duty: Warzone, their enormously successful battle royale title. To mark the occasion, the company launched a new online service called Warzone Report which allows players to see their in-game progress and experience.
Call of Duty: Warzone’s First Anniversary
“On this day one year ago,” writes Activision; “Call of Duty released its first-ever standalone free-to-play, free-for-everyone, cross-platform massive combat experience known as Warzone. As tensions continue to escalate throughout Verdansk, we want to extend our thranks to you for the moments you helped make possible over the past year.”

Call of Duty: Warzone has enjoyed incredible, almost-unprecedented success since its earliest days. The game reached 15 million active players in less than a week… and 30 million one week later. Since then, the game has gone from launching alongside Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to launching a new content expansion for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The game looks likely to continue for the foreseeable future as a free-to-play battle royale experience alongside the primary Call of Duty titles. Activision has not indicated any intention of releasing a ‘Warzone 2’ or other such title as of yet.
To celebrate Call of Duty: Warzone’s one-year anniversary, Activision launched “Warzone Report”. This new service offers players a way to look at their overall stats in the game online in report format. The report includes total deaths, total kills, your K/D ratio, total hours played & total games played, and also total wins. To get this report, players simply need to reply to this official tweet with the hashtag #WarzoneReport.
As for what’s next for Warzone, that remains to be seen. However, the game did recently get a major expansion as part of Black Ops Cold War Season 2. Indeed, that expansion introduced zombies to the game for the first time; one of the most significant new additions since launch. It may be an indication that Activision is becoming more willing to experiment with the game’s traditional format as time goes on.
