Earlier today, Treyarch launched the latest major Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 content update; the first update of this size since the start of Operation Dark Divide, the current season of post-launch content. Details about this update first emerged last week, with new content like a permanent Nuketown playlist, Zombies Gauntlet, and more. All of this content, which includes a wealth of new rewards and new ways to earn them, is now available in-game.
The Latest Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Content Update
When it comes to new post-launch content, this new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 content update contains over 280 new items. (Although it’s worth noting that only some of these will be available initially, while the rest will become available throughout the current season.) Alongside this new content, Treyarch has introduced new ways for players to acquire it.
“[…] weapons and content in Blackjack’s Shop can be earned by trading in Reserve Cases via the new Pick-a-Weapon Bribe, Reserve Stack, and rotating offers in the Black Market,” explains Activision; “Get Reserve Cases by completing Contracts across all modes, earning Cases through gameplay in Multiplayer and Blackout, unlocking Contraband Tiers after Tier 50, and completing up to 2 Daily Tier Skips for additional Reserve Cases each day after reaching Tier 50.”
Treyarch are hoping that this new system will give players more freedom to earn the items that they want. Indeed, the system will allow players to see Reserve items before they get them, for the first time. In fact, the new Pick-a-Weapon Bribe bundle allows players to unlock a weapon of their choice; “from a Crate that also includes 2 Reserve items, along with a bonus of 5 Duplicate-Protected Crates.”
In addition to that, the game is gaining new featured playlists in today’s update. The new Multiplayer playlist features the following modes and maps; 2XP Stockpile, Nuketown, Barebones Moshpit, Bolt-Action Barebones Moshpit, and Mercenary Deathmatch Moshpit. The Blackout playlist features; Duos Moshput (Ambush Duos, Hardcore Duos, Down But Not Out Duos, Close Quarters Frenzy Duos), Alcatraz Patrols, Quads, and Solo. Finally, the Zombies playlist features; Tag der Toten on the PS4 and An Ice Day in Hell Gauntlet for the Xbox One and PC.
