The Contraband map in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is one full of surprises. Fans have discovered many cool details hidden in it, along with easter eggs of sorts. Reddit is full of those these days, so here’s a collection of cool secrets and Black Ops 4 Contraband easter eggs.
How to Find Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Contraband Easter Eggs
First off, we have hidden references to the map’s use. Since its name is Contraband, it’s only natural that it is used for weapon and drug smuggling. In fact, there are weapons with the Dark Matter skin that you can find on the map.
Cicada1205 had another cool story to share. Before the smuggling, there was a shipcrew on the island, slowly going insane by the heat and lack of food. They left some markings and signs on the rocks, stones and other things across the island. These “TOO SALTY XX” (indicating the water can’t be consumed) and “Best coconuts” writings were most likely the first to be written, when the crew was still sane.
Inside the main stranded ship we can see markings, indicating how long the crew was stuck here. There’s even a primitive radiostation that the shipcrew used during their stay on the island.
Also, here are some clothes stranded on the shore. These could be the clothes of the ship crew.
Just as all these sound perfectly fine, things started getting messy. The ship crew slowly getting insane. Here’s some proof:
An old, rusty ship container with the words “FEAR THE WATER!” on it.
“One fish, two fish, red fish, dead fish”, a reference to a popular Dr Seuss rhyme.
For last, we saved this board, transcribed below:
“Day 5 – Frank says help will come soon…
Day 143 – Supplies running low. Frank still thinks we will be saved.
Day 215 – Caught Frank stealing from me. He denies it but I know the truth.
Day 245 – Frank and his ??????? football
Day 2?? Frank has disappeared… I eat well tonight!
Day ?? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA NO ONE LEAVES”
Creepy right? There’s even more Black Ops 4 Contraband easter eggs waiting on the island. You can find a giant tortoise and more markings and strange symbols scattered throughout the premises. There hasn’t been an explanation behind the markings but we believe the community will find an answer to that too.
