One thing we all feared about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on consoles this year, is the fact that it is so packed up that it could easily be so large that we’ll have to delete a bunch of other games in order for it to play. Surprisingly, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 file size, at least on Xbox One, isn’t as bad, meaning it must be well optimized and cared for by its developers.
According to the game’s page on the Microsoft Store, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 file size comes in at roughly 43Gb, a reasonable number for a title of its caliber. The fact that in 43 gigabytes Treyarch managed to pack 3 modes and a bunch of different assets is surprising to say the least.
Blackout, of course, will be included in the game at launch, so no worries about its file size whatsoever. Even before its beta, Treyarch has announced that the mode will enter testing period as an update to the already existing one for the multiplayer.
However, don’t expect the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 file size to stay as is for long. The developing studio has already created a rough roadmap for their first updates. The announcement reads:
We look forward to keeping up that dialogue, but our support of Black Ops 4 will go further: our goal is to deliver a steady stream of content to the entire community – the most active calendar of events in our history, period. Following launch, we’ll continue to add a variety of free content for the entire community across Multiplayer, Zombies and Blackout.
With that being said, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is reaching its final stage of promotion and is heading right into its launch in October. If you haven’t pre-ordered it yet, you still have time since it’s destined to be a go-to title for the winter.
