Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 3 is drawing to a close, and as the ’80s Action Heroes event continues, Season 4 isn’t that far away. Prior to the launch, Treyarch has just a few final things to release, including another upcoming Double XP event.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 4
As per usual, neither Activision nor Treyarch have confirmed a release date yet for Black Ops Cold War Season 4. Typically, a date isn’t revealed until the season is officially announced, within a week or two of the launch. However, in their latest weekly update, Treyarch writes that; “Season Four is just around the corner!”
Last week, Treyarch released the final new weapon of Season 3; the AMP63 Machine Pistol. This sidearm was the last of six new weapons to arrive during Season 3, and marks the end of the new content still expected as part of Season 3 Reloaded. Between now and the start of Season 4, most of the game’s “new” features will be playlist and mode changes. Indeed, with the ’80s Action Heroes event still live, players can still play modes like Die Hardpoint and Rambo’s Gun Game.
Treyarch has also announced that another double XP event is coming up this weekend. The studio has made these events a near-weekly occurrence of late, but with slightly different offerings. In the last few weeks, players have been able to take part in a Double XP event and a Double Weapon XP event. This weekend, from the 11th of June to the 14th, players will benefit from both types of Double XP. The event will be live across both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, as per usual.
While there may be no more new weapons coming until Season 4, there are new Legendary Blueprints. These are available in two new store bundles, coming throughout the week. The Tracer Pack: Runic Demise bundle contains no less than three Weapon Blueprints; the “Decomposer” SMG, “Natural Wonder” Assault Rifle, and “Tree Branch” Shotgun. A further three are available in the Power Surge Reactive Bundle. These are the “Short Fuse” Pistol, “Kilowhopper” Assault Rifle, and “Breaker Box” Shotgun. Finally, the Mammoth Stalker bundle offers one final Blueprint; the “Lack Luster” Tactical Rifle.
