Next week, on the 7th of October, Activision and Treyarch will be launching Season 6 – the last major post-launch content season for both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone prior to the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard. The sixth season will feature the last round-based Zombies map, a new seasonal event, and more.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 6
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 6 is due to launch on the 7th of October, following updates to both Cold War and Warzone in the preceding two days. The latter title can look forward to new points of interest as fissures split Verdansk, revealing WWII-era bunkers. Warzone will also be getting a new Gulag layout, inspired by the original 2019 Gulag layouts and the Gunfight variant of the map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
As for Black Ops Cold War, players can look forward to plenty of new content, both in Multiplayer and Zombies. “Forsaken” is the title of the final round-based Zombies map, described as the “epic conclusion” to Black Ops Cold War Zombies. The mode will also get a new Perk, Wonder Weapon, and main quest. More Support Weapons will also become available – the Hand Cannon and ARC-XD.
Over in Multiplayer, three new maps will be coming to the game; Deprogram (6v6), Amerika (6v6), and Gluboko (coming with 2v2 and 3v3 variants). New Operators in Season 6 include Alex Mason himself, along with Fuze, a new Perseus operative. Weapon-wise, players can look forward to no less than five new weapons. The .410 Ironhide Shotgun and Grav Assault Rifle will both be available as part of the Season 6 Battle Pass. The Battle Axe melee weapon will also be available at launch, while players will have to wait until mid-season for the LAPA SMG and Hammer & Sickle melee weapons.
Also coming in Season 6, although not at launch, is The Haunting; a new seasonal event for both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. This Halloween event is due to begin on the 19th of October.
