If one Call of Duty game wasn’t loved by the community then this is Infinite Warfare. Its first trailer is one of the most disliked videos on Youtube and fans never quite understood its existence. Given that, it’s no secret that Infinity Ward shouldn’t consider creating Infinite Warfare 2. At least that is what an ex-developer believes.
According to Robert Bowling, former Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward, Infinite Warfare 2 will never happen. This is only natural, since only a handful of fans though this is their favorite game in the franchise. We had our thoughts on whether or not Call of Duty 2019 is a sequel to Infinite Warfare but given the fact that Activision had a rough year, they can’t take another hit. The next addition to the franchise must be a hit or else the franchise will spiral to its imminent “death”. Although we sure hope this won’t happen any time soon.
Activision believes that Call of Duty 2019 and its campaign will be a huge hit for the company. However, they reveal that they expect it to sell less than Black Ops 4. For what it’s worth, everything points to it being Modern Warfare 4. Bowling believes it too, saying that the only logical order is for Activision to release Modern Warfare 4 and make Blackout a free-to-play game for the franchise.
As you can see, Call of Duty is in a chaos right now. Everyone is wondering what the next game will be. We know for a fact that we don’t want it to be Infinite Warfare 2 and probably so does the community as well. Whether or not it is Modern Warfare 4 or Ghosts 2 or a completely new series remains to be seen. We shall know more about it in the months to come.
