Activision has officially confirmed that the ongoing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta event is now open on all platforms. This means that the two-day Early Access phase on PC and Xbox One is now over. As such, all PC and Xbox One users will be able to access the Beta for its final three days up until the 23rd of September.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta is Now Open on All Platforms
While this second Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Beta weekend is an Open Beta on PS4, the same has not been the case for other platforms. Like the first Beta, which was only available on PS4, there has been a two-day Early Access period. During this period, only players who had actually pre-ordered the game were able to play. Now that the period is over, the Beta is transitioning into an Open Beta. As such, it will now be freely available for gamers to try out.
This transition comes just before the addition of Ground War, which is due to come to the Beta tomorrow. This 64-player game mode will be the largest mode available in the Beta, dwarfing the other modes which have been available until now. It will also mean a great many more people who will be able to try out the game’s crossplay feature, which is active during the Beta. Unless Activision announces a surprise Beta between now and release, the next three days will be the last chance that gamers get to try Modern Warfare before its release in late October. As such, anybody thinking of getting the game should certainly give it a try. (Especially now that it is open on all platforms.)
