The next major update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One has arrived, and with it, a whole host of new content including the highly-anticipated Shipment map. The update brings a new Operator, three new maps, new playlist updates, and more, including content for Spec Ops. Plus, it also brings all the normal bug fixes and tweaks that players would expect.
December Update: The Modern Warfare Shipment Map and More
The headline feature of today’s update is, of course, the new Modern Warfare Shipment map. Shipment is now available to play on in-game along with Vacant; both redesigns of classic maps from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Both are available for various 6v6 multiplayer modes, while Shipment is also available for Gunfight. In addition, the update includes Over Winter, a new Gunfight map which is essentially a winter re-skin of the Docks map.
Alongside the new maps, there are three new playlists added in today’s update. Firstly, if you want to try out the new maps, there’s a “Vacant and Shipment 24/7” playlist which only features those two maps. Then, there’s also the new Cranked game mode, and the return of a core Gunfight playlist. For the Spec Ops mode, players have three new missions to try out. Strongbox is an all-new Special Operation, while Disinform and Bomb Squad are rebuilt classic Spec Ops missions from previous games.
Fans can check out the full patch notes on Infinity Ward’s website to see the specific fixes that are included. Most of these are bug fixes, although there are also some UI and menu tweaks. The devs have also added a new “Auto Move Forward” feature for Keyboard and Mouse and Controllers, while the PC version of the game has received a variety of stability improvements. All of this should be live in-game now, provided you’ve downloaded the update.
