Call of Duty: Warzone’s “Ground Fall” Event is About to Begin

Tomorrow, on the 17th of June, Season 4 will launch for both Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. Foremost amongst all the new content for the former is Ground Fall; a new limited-time event which will be the next major chapter in Verdansk’s ongoing storyline.

Call of Duty: Warzone – The Ground Fall Event

Following the recently-concluded ’80s Action Heroes event, which brought Nakatomi Plaza to Verdansk, among other things, Call of Duty: Warzone is getting another big limited-time event. As fans will no doubt have seen in the trailer, Season 4 opens with Jackal – a new Perseus agent and Operator – causing satellites to crash down to Earth. Several of these have struck Verdansk, adding new areas to the map, and bringing new features in the Ground Fall event.

Call of Duty Warzone Ground Fall Event Launches Tomorrow

In Ground Fall, players will be able to locate and secure various SAT-Link devices across Verdansk. When you do, you’ll unlock event-exclusive reward items, usable in both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. The event also features special objectives, most of which focus on the new map areas and wargear. Completing these objectives can earn you new Calling Cards, Emblems, a Satellite Weapon Charm, and bonus XP. If you can complete all of the event challenges, you’ll unlock an Epic Secondary Weapon Blueprint.

The biggest changes to the Verdansk map are, of course, the Satellite Crash Sites. These don’t appear on the Tac Map, but should be fairly obvious. It’s at these locations that players can find Ground Fall SAT-Links. While not part of Ground Fall, there are a few other changes to the game map. Mysterious Red Doors will be appearing, for one, though their exact purpose is currently under wraps. Nakatomi Plaza, from the last event, is staying put, although it will now be known as Downtown Tower. (Without the special event missions and rewards, of course.) Plus, the usual Gulag map has been replaced with a plywood reconstruction of the new Hijacked multiplayer map.
