Call of Duty: WW2 Unveils New Attack of the Undead Community Event

Call of Duty: WW2 is still one of the most popular shooters around, and its popularity certainly hasn’t waned with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on the horizon. It’s still chugging along pretty well, especially with the recent slew of content added to the game by way of Activision and Sledgehammer Games. Now it’s getting even more cool new stuff thanks to both teams, with the addition of the Attack of the Undead community event.

You can check out the trailer below to get a glimpse of the new event, which will run for about a month starting today all the way through June 26. The event is one of the largest to have come to the game thus far, with three new game modes on board: Hordepoint (a variation on Hardpoint), Infected, and Relic of the Undead. There’s also a new multiplayer map available for a limited time called Groesten Haus.

The new Infected multiplayer mode has one player starting the game out as a zombie who must infect all the remaining survivors in a match as the zombie horde continues to grow. The Survivors win the round if all Zombies are finally taken out. Meanwhile, Hordepoint is Hardpoint with an undead twist. The winning team must defend the point from the advancing team, in addition to Zombies. It’ll be available for a limited time, starting Tuesday, July 5. Finally, Relic of the Undead begins on June 12 and will task soldiers with keeping the Skull Relic away from opponents as long as they possibly can.

In addition to these new game modes, Activision will be adding seven new weapons, including the Nambu Type 2 submachine gun, Blunderbuss shotgun, Stinger light machine gun, Lever Action sniper rifle, and PTRS-41 sniper rifle. New melee weapons include the Fire Axe and Claymore sword. If you’re looking for a good excuse to abandon Fortnite for a while, make sure you don’t miss this new event. You’ve got plenty of time to soak it all up before Black Ops 4 releases later this year.
