What’s Included with the New Gwent: Crimson Curse DLC
The Gwent: Crimson Curse expansion was first announced around three weeks ago. As the first card expansion for the Witcher card game, Crimson Curse is free, although fans were able to pre-order in order to claim a variety of pre-order bonuses, including kegs and the Blood Armour leader skin. The expansion brings 31 neutral cards and at least 14 new cards for every different faction. While many are themed around vampires, the expansion includes plenty more. Indeed, it also brings several new leaders for the in-game factions. These include Anna Henrietta for Nilfgaard, Dana Méadbh for the Scoia’tael, and Detlaff van der Eretein for the monster faction.
These new leaders all bring new mechanics and play-styles to Gwent; especially in combination with some of the new cards. Anna Henrietta, for example, has the ability to create and play cards from her opponent’s hand. If that weren’t powerful enough, the Damien de la Tour card allows her to recharge the ability! According to CD Projekt Red, there will be five new leaders in total; one for each of the factions. However, only three have been unveiled thus far.
Gwent: Crimson Curse is available to play for free from today on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices. Many of the new cards have already been unveiled on the official Gwent website, giving fans a glimpse at what’s available in the new expansion.
