Last month, CD Projekt Red revealed a new Witcher 3 statue which depicted Geralt of Rivia reimagined as a Ronin in a feudal Japanese setting. Now, the studio has unveiled a follow-up limited edition statue of Ciri in the same style. The new Witcher 3 Ciri and the Kitsune statue depicts Ciri in Japanese garb with an accompanying Kitsune, holding the severed head of an evil Yōkai.
The Witcher 3 Ciri and the Kitsune Statue
“The Lady of Space and Time is not bound to any single realm or era,” writes CD Projekt Red; “and there are entire worlds of contracts open to one so deadly and determined. This 12-inch, hand-painted figure depicts Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, heir to the Elder Blood, as an accomplished monster slayer during a turbulent time in Japanese history. […] Accompanied on a contract by a wise Kitsune spirit, Ciri emerges victorious from the devastated ruins of a sacred Shinto shrine – the scene of a fierce and destructive battle with a dangerous yōkai.”
Just as with the Geralt Ronin statue, the new Witcher 3 Ciri and the Kitsune statue is available to pre-order on the official CD Projekt Red Merch Store. The limited edition statue will cost buyers a hefty $275. However, unlike the Geralt statue, the release of the Ciri statue is a lot further off. The projected release window of the Geralt Ronin figure is somewhere in fiscal Q4 of 2019. That means buyers should expect it sometime in the first few months of 2020. However, the Ciri figure’s estimated shipping date is all the way in Q3 of 2020. As such, it could be almost a year away from release.
Of course, with its high price and long wait to release, the polystone statuette is extremely high-quality. Every one is hand-painted, based on a colour scheme devised by Matt Cexwish, an award-winning miniature painter. For dedicated fans of The Witcher games, it is likely worth both the cost and the wait.
