Celebi is finally available in Pokemon GO, letting you complete a series of quests before you obtain that sweet green guy. Amidst all other events and new field research challenges, getting the chance to take part at a slower paced quest feels like a breath of fresh air.
Don’t let its cute looks fool you. Celebi is a mythical Pokemon and that’s why there’s a whole Special Research challenge in order to obtain it. The guys over at Pokemon GO Hub are doing their best at releasing the whole process as fast as possible, revealing 6 out of 8 steps until now.
Here’s what we know about the Celebi Special Research Challenge for now:
Step 1
Objectives
- Power up Pokemon 5 times
- Battle in a Gym 2 times
- Battle in a raid
Rewards:
- 10x Pokeballs
- 1x Fast TM
- 1x Super Incubator
Step 2
Objectives
- Make 3 new friends
- Evolve an evolved GRASS-type Pokemon
- Catch a Pokemon 3 days in a row
Rewards
- 1x Sun Stone
- 1500 Stardust
- 1x Premium Raid Pass
Step 3
Objectives
- Use a Sun Stone to evolve Gloom or Sunkern
- Reach Level 25
- Hatch 9 eggs
Rewards:
- 1x King’s Rock
- Eevee Encounter
- 1x Premium Raid Pass
Step 4
Objectives
- Evolve Eevee into Espeon during the day
- Walk 10 km with Eevee as your buddy to earn Candy
- Send 20 gifts to Friends

- 2500 Stardust
Step 5
Objectives
- Walk 10 km with Eevee as your buddy to earn Candy
- Evolve Eevee into Umbreon at night
- Trade a Pokémon

- 1x Ugrade
Step 6
Objectives
- Visit PokéStops 7 days in a row
- Use 25 Pinap Berries while catching Pokémon
- Use items to evolve Pokémon 2 times

- 1x Dragon Scale
- 3500 Stardust
Step 7
Objectives
- Catch 40 GRASS– or PSYCHIC-type Pokémon
- Make an Excellent Curve Throw
- Earn a gold Johto medal
