Check Out the Cool International Courts of NBA Live 19

There have been a lot of exciting announcements about NBA Live 19 over the past week, but perhaps one of the most spectacular is that we will be able to travel beyond US borders. The One mode is going to feature a number of international courts. Let’s take a look at a few of them now!

1. The Place de la Concorde in France

The Place de la Concorde historically was the site of bloodshed; it was here that heads rolled during the bloody executions of the French Revolution. Today, it serves a much happier purpose as the location of the hugely popular Jordan Quai 54 tournament. Since 2002, this tournament has drawn huge crowds and has exerted a strong pull on celebrities. Where else do famous musicians volunteer to play for free?

2. The Tenement in the Philippines

Fort Bonifacio Tenement, known colloquially simply as “The Tenement,” was constructed clear back in the 60s to provide housing in Manila. The community that developed there became very close-knit, with the central streetball court serving as a focal point. When the government tried to evict everyone in 2014, the community fought back. Eventually, they won and were able to stay—partly thanks to the popularity of their basketball court.

3. Rio Favela Court in Brazil

This court in Rio de Janeiro is one of the city’s most popular. While Brazil’s basketball players have gone largely overlooked over the years, that is starting to change. The Rocinha neighborhood finally has a Jr. NBA program, and in 2016, Carmelo Anthony traveled to play in Santa Marta. Now, NBA Live 19 is bringing gamers from around the world to the virtual Rio Favela Court.

Now you have had a chance to check out some of NBA Live’s exciting international street courts. NBA Live 19 will be released on September 7th on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
