So many introduction trailers, so little time. Code Vein has just introduced Revenant Leader Louis, a young man who researches every single day in order to find a way to save the Revenant. As you probably remember, this isn’t the first trailer that Bandai Namco has released to show off their characters for the upcoming game. A few days back it was Mia Karnstein, and then yesterday it was Yakumo Shinonome. Today it is Louis’ turn.
Like his fellow Revenants, Louis is a Buddy (aka a companion) that can tag along with you as you explore the world of Code Vein. He seems to be an interesting character from the description given of him, even if he does appear to look an awful lot like the default protagonist for our tastes. Seriously, take a look at the video for yourselves if you don’t believe us.
But we digress! Louis’ story is shrouded in mystery. But what we do know about him shows that while he is the leader of the Revenants, his research into them and how they act seem to be his true goal in the game. The protagonist meets Louis after out they find out that the Revenants are disbanding, as they lose their minds because of the inserted miasma and thirst for blood. The protagonist is then attacked by the lost Revenants but thankfully Louis is there to help and take them back to base in order to recover.
While the video doesn’t reveal too much about Louis, it does show that he’s in a position of power and that he’ll be an important ally throughout the game, possibly being the one who’ll send the protagonist off on missions. There was also a moment in the trailer where he showed off an ability that looked like a shield bubble, which could possibly be useful in-game.
