Fortnite’s v5.20 patch recently released, and like clockwork; players have already uncovered new content in the game’s files. Like previous updates, Epic Games took the opportunity to put cosmetic items into the game so that they would be ready for a later release. As such, they have already been unearthed and leaked.
The Leaked Cosmetic Items
A screenshot of the Upcoming Items list has been posted online by the Fortnite Battle Royale News Twitter account. Fans should note that, as this is a leak, it’s possible that Epic Games may make changes to the pictured content before the official release. However, these sorts of Fortnite leaks tend to be very accurate (and predictably common).

The leaked item list includes a wide array of upcoming content. It includes five new emotes, five new gliders, four new pickaxes, and seven new backpacks, among other things. Included among the new items is an homage to the iconic burger mascot. The mascot is no more thanks to the start of Fortnite’s fifth season. Now, however, players will be able to don a helmet version of the comical mascot.

At present, it’s unknown exactly when these upcoming items will go live. The Fortnite item shop is due to reset soon; that will be the first opportunity for some to appear. If not, they are likely to appear in the coming weeks. The game’s v5.20 update has already added a new Double Barrel Shotgun weapon. However, this upcoming leaked content is purely cosmetic. The remainder of the new content is likely to see release sometime between now and the next update; the next opportunity for Epic Games to subtly implement upcoming content into the game.
Fortnite’s latest update should now be live across all platforms; Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. Players can already try out the new Steady Storm mode and the Double Barrel Shotgun, but may have to wait a while for this additional content.
