How to Find the Creepy Battlefield 5 Gnome Easter Egg

The Battlefield series is well known for its hidden (and often ridiculous) Easter eggs. Battlefield 1 even featured a megalodon bursting out of a puddle in the trenches! Now, players have discovered a rather creepy new Battlefield 5 Easter egg; one involving a garden gnome which will stalk you across the battlefield of the Arras map.

How to Find the Garden Gnome Battlefield 5 Easter Egg

To find this particular bizarre Easter egg, you’ll need to play the Conquest game mode on the Arras map. Battlefield 5 doesn’t have a map selection feature, so you’ll just have to keep playing until you get a chance to play on the Arras map. According to players who have encountered this Easter egg, the gnome almost always appears near point A at the start of the map. Unfortunately, it doesn’t necessarily appear in the same place. That means you’ll need to go searching for it. However, once you do spot it, simply shoot it or stab it to cause it to break.

Once the gnome is destroyed, the Easter egg begins. The gnome will proceed to reappear with glowing red eyes, and will always be facing you, even if you try to move around it. Moreover, it will make creepy noises and teleport itself around the battlefield in puffs of red smoke, always facing you. The gnome will even continue to follow you after you die, doing so for the rest of the match. It’s unclear if other players can see the gnome as well, or if multiple players are able to trigger the Easter egg during the same game.

Other than following you in a generally creepy manner, the gnome doesn’t actually do anything else. The creepy encounter is unlikely to be the only Battlefield Easter egg; indeed, it’s currently unknown if there is a megalodon Easter egg in the game, something which has become something of a tradition. The last one was very difficult to trigger, so it may be a while before players stumble upon it, if there is indeed one in Battlefield 5.
