One of the standout moments from this year’s Game Awards was, without a doubt, Grimes’ performance of 4ÆM, particularly because of the reveal that it was in fact a track from Cyberpunk 2077. The official music video of that track is now available on YouTube, following on from a recent video about the different musicians contributing to the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack.
The Cyberpunk 2077 4ÆM Music Video
Although it was announced prior to The Game Awards that Grimes would be performing during the event, it wasn’t publicly known that she would be performing a track from Cyberpunk 2077. In fact, it wasn’t even publicly known that she was providing music for the game! CD Projekt Red didn’t show any gameplay or release any details during the brief appearance. However, they did release a short video after the event which reveals many of the musicians who will be providing music for the game’s soundtrack.
Grimes was the second artist to be officially confirmed for Cyberpunk 2077 after Refused; the band who will be providing music for Johnny Silverhand’s own band SAMURAI. Two of Refused’s tracks from the game are currently available to listen to on YouTube. For now, it’s unknown who the other contributing musicians will be portraying in Cyberpunk 2077. However, CD Projekt Red have revealed that Grimes herself will portray Lizzy Wizzy; the lead singer of a band called Lizzy Wizzy and the Metadwarves.
It’s currently unknown how big a role Lizzy Wizzy will play as a character in Cyberpunk 2077. In all likelihood, she may only have a small supporting role. However, there is a possibility that she could be an important secondary character, as fans have actually seen her already. Although none of Grimes’ voice lines have been heard yet, Lizzy Wizzy did appear briefly in the 2018 E3 trailer. (She’s the celebrity arriving at a red carpet event with her body coated completely in chrome. It’s also suspected that the woman cleaning her jaw cybernetics may also be her.)
