So far, CD Projekt Red has shown a Cyberpunk 2077 demo featuring gameplay on two occasions this year; once at E3 and then again more recently at Gamescom. Tomorrow, the studio will finally reveal this demo publicly, or at least, an edited-down 15-minute version of it. The demo will be livestreamed tomorrow, along with developer interviews and more.
The Upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 Demo
So far this year, CD Projekt Red have shown almost nothing publicly of CD Projekt Red besides a single trailer and a handful of screenshots. Behind closed doors, however, they have shown gameplay demos at two major events. Now, almost a year after the release of last year’s major gameplay demo release, CD Projekt Red will be releasing a second one. Unfortunately, the demo will only be 15 minutes long this time around; it won’t be as long as the 40-minute video fans got to see in 2018. However, based on screenshots shown from the demo, it looks like it will be revealing content which is very different from that shown last year.
Originally, this 15-minute Cyberpunk 2077 demo was planned to be shown publicly at PAX West. However, last week CD Projekt Red cancelled their Pax West appearance. Instead, the demo will be livestreamed from their Warsaw studio tomorrow, on the 30th of September. Hosted by the studio’s UK Head of Communications, Hollie Bennett, the livestream will feature several developer interviews and additional content as well. The stream will begin on CD Projekt Red’s Twitch and Mixer channels at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 8 PM CEST.
The exact content coming up in the demo is hazy. However, it looks as though it will focus somewhat on Night City’s Pacifica district. This area is quite different to the dense urban centre shown last year. Less built-up, screenshots of this area showed dusty tent camps and streets, with many areas underneath roads or other buildings.
