Fans of CD Projekt Red’s past games will no doubt know that titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt featured plenty of different difficulty settings. It sounds as though Cyberpunk 2077 will be very similar in that regard. In a recent interview, CD Projekt Red’s Alvin Liu revealed some details about a Cyberpunk 2077 Hardcore mode and the other difficulty settings available for players. Specifically, settings which will help players who aren’t that comfortable in a first-person shooter.
The Cyberpunk 2077 Hardcore Mode and Other Difficulty Options
Speaking in a recent interview with Wccftech, Alvin Liu gave up some details about the various Cyberpunk 2077 difficulty options. The hardest of these will apparently be a specific Cyberpunk 2077 Hardcore mode, which totally removes the in-game UI. As such, it’s probably best for players looking to do a Hardcore run to have beaten the game at least once already. After all, they’ll need to be very familiar with the game to survive without the UI. Certainly, Liu’s statement that it; “will be a real challenge for a lot of players,” may be quite an understatement!
Fortunately, players will also have easier modes available. “At the same time,” explains Liu; “if you want to play more casually for the story and maybe you’re not experienced with shooters, which was a real big concern for us. We want to tell a story and maybe you’re a big fan of The Witcher and you’re not comfortable playing a shooter, we have settings available for that.”
He went on to mention the Smart Guns, which feature in-game. Certainly, these seem perfect for players who aren’t experts at first-person shooting. Smart guns feature bullets which will home in on targets, even striking around corners. Of course, the projectiles are slower, and they aren’t as powerful as other weapons. However, they could nevertheless be a useful tool for players who are out of their comfort zone in a first-person shooter.
