While Cyberpunk 2077 has already garnered a collection of highly positive reviews, what has become increasingly apparent since its launch is just how bug-ridden the game is, especially on consoles. Earlier today, CD Projekt Red rolled out their first post-launch Cyberpunk 2077 hotfix; the first patch aimed at addressing at least some of its widespread issues.
Cyberpunk 2077 Hotfix 1.04 – Patch Notes
At the time of writing, Cyberpunk 2077 Hotfix 1.04 is live on PC and PlayStation, and should be coming to Xbox relatively soon. The bulk of today’s patch consists of fixes for a range of quest-related bugs, although there are also some more serious corrections, such as the removal of copyrighted songs which weren’t being disabled by the game’s “Disable Copyrighted Music” setting. Additionally, the developers have changed the visual effects of braindances to reduce the risk of them inducing epileptic seizures; an issue which has garnered major attention since concerns were first raised by a reviewer.
You can find the full patch notes for Hotfix 1.04 here. If you’ve found yourself stuck because of a particular glitch, you may wish to see if it’s been patched. What’s very apparent from the patch notes, however, is just how problematic some of these issues were, and how widespread they are within the game. More than a few of the fixes, for example, are specifically for glitches which have been preventing players from completing quests. “Fixed issues with animations missing from important quest NPCs during cinematics,” reads another note.
Of course, it’s good to see CD Projekt Red getting a hotfix out so quickly after release. However, it’s highly unlikely that all of the game’s problems have been addressed today. Players should certainly expect more hotfixes and patches to come in the near future. Hopefully, they’ll prove able to roll out fixes for most of the problems before too long. (Particularly any bugs which are currently causing soft locks or console crashes.)
