Although we still don’t know much when it comes to the specific of Cyberpunk 2077, one thing that is clear is that CD Projekt Red is putting player choice first and foremost. As such, it should come as no surprise that the studio has now confirmed that there will be more than one Cyberpunk 2077 ending.
There Will be More Than One Cyberpunk 2077 Ending, CD Projekt Red Confirms
While this news isn’t exactly surprising, it is good to know that the game’s core story doesn’t force players into a single canonical ending. The information came from a recent interview, where quest director Mateusz Tomszkiewicz confirmed that there would be more than one Cyberpunk 2077 ending. Sadly, he didn’t go into any further detail, so we don’t know how many endings the game might include.
Of course, CD Projekt Red is no stranger to games with multiple endings. Not only did The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, their last major RPG, have several different endings, but each of those endings had a few variations based on choices made during the game. Given that it looks thus far like Cyberpunk 2077 will give players even more freedom when it comes to the story, it would not be surprising to see it include many more possible endings. At present, of course, CD Projekt Red is staying very, very quiet about the game’s story. As such, we have no real clue as to how many endings there might be. What little has been shown is undoubtedly from the game’s earliest stages, and beyond that, the story is a mystery.
Indeed, the recent revelation that Keanu Reeves will be portraying the character Johnny Silverhand poses many more questions than it answers. Silverhand is undoubtedly a very major character in the game’s story. However, it remains to be seen exactly what role he will play, or what his relationship to V will be. For now, players will have to wait patiently for the release date, or for CD Projekt Red to release more information.
