Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire Event Will Take Place Tomorrow

The Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event, which was postponed earlier this month in solidarity with the BLM protests, has now been rescheduled. The event, which will reportedly feature a new trailer and never-before-seen gameplay footage, will take place tomorrow; the 25th of June.

The Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire Event

“Join us tomorrow, June 25 at 6PM CEST, at twitch.tv/cdprojektred,” reads the official announcement released on Twitter earlier today; “for the first, 25 minute episode of #NightCityWire, where we are going to show you a brand new trailer, present fresh gameplay footage and chat with the devs in detail about one of the game features, braindance.”

Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire Event Takes Place Tomorrow 2

Night City Wire was originally due to take place earlier this month. However, like so many other events and releases, it was postponed in solidarity with the ongoing protests. Now, the event will be taking place tomorrow. Interestingly, CD Projekt Red has said that this is “the first,” Night City Wire; indicating that this event may take the form of an episodic series as the game’s release date draws nearer. Following the second delay to the Cyberpunk 2077 release date, from September to November, there now remain just under five months before the game is due to launch.

It’s currently unknown when the next Night City Wire will be taking place. (Or indeed, how many there will be in total!) However, it marks a change from CD Projekt Red’s previous marketing style. Until now, the studio has revealed very little footage from the game. After years of development, the studio has tended to only reveal a few scraps of information every few months. It’s worth noting, however, that Cyberpunk 2077 would almost certainly have had a major presence this year at E3; an event which is, of course, no longer taking place. As such, Night City Wire may be intended to serve as a replacement for event appearances which have been cancelled due to COVID-19.
