CD Projekt Red Confirms Cyberpunk 2077 Will Feature Stealth Gameplay Mechanics

It almost seems that there’s no end to the features which CD Projekt Red has put into Cyberpunk 2077. The studio hasn’t even publicly debuted gameplay footage yet; however, feature after feature has been revealed in interviews and updates since E3. Although there won’t be any drive-able flying cars, players can interrupt dialogue to threaten NPCs and even hack people’s brains. Now, CD projekt Red has revealed the Cyberpunk 2077 stealth mechanics that will feature in the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 Stealth Gameplay Mechanics

This latest revelation came via a Facebook update on the Cyberpunk 2077 Facebook page, which was quickly shared on Reddit by user OmerRDT. The update states that; “Enemies won’t always be aware of the player. The player can utilize this to their advantage, by sneaking up on unsuspecting enemies, laying traps, or deploying viruses. The plan of attack is just as important as executing it. We never force players to adopt any particular style of combat, so they’re always free to use what they think is the best possible solution to a problem at a given time. From shooting through walls, to bending bullets over corners – stealth tactics are also a part of your repertoire”.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Allow Players to Approach Combat However They Want

While it’s certainly interesting to learn that Cyberpunk will approach combat in a similar manner to games like Far Cry and Deus Ex; allowing players to approach combat in any fashion according to their play-style. However, it seems that players will have even more options than expected; being able to deploy traps and “viruses” certainly sounds interesting. The virus aspect also suggests that CD Projekt Red is attempting to implement hacking to multiple aspects of gameplay, including combat.

It remains to be seen what other features CD Projekt Red have yet to reveal; since E3, the studio has revealed a host of features set to appear in Cyberpunk 2077. The Cyberpunk 2077 stealth mechanics are just the latest revelation about the upcoming sci-fi title.
