Fallout 76 Daily Quests: How to Complete Pass the Buck

The Fallout 76 Pass the Buck daily quest is one of several which you can find scattered throughout the Toxic Valley region. The quest involves collecting toxic waste barrels, and its difficulty can vary greatly depending on how you undertake it. The quest takes place around the shores of the region’s radioactive lake.

How to Complete the Fallout 76 Pass the Buck Daily Quest

To start the Fallout 76 Pass the Buck daily quest, you’ll need to head for a particular lake in the Toxic Valley. This lake can be found in the southeastern portion of the region. Both the Pioneer Scout Camp and the Grafton Steel Yard can be found on its shores. The lake is also notable for its vibrant colouration; denoting just how horribly irradiated it is. You’ll need protective gear if you plan on swimming during the quest, although as noted below, there are greater dangers than radiation in the lake.

As you explore the shores of the lake, you should pick up the quest. If not, search the area around the edge of the Pioneer Scout Camp, as this is likely where one of the barrels will spawn. Once you have the quest, you’ll need to collect three irradiated waste barrels. You can find these around the edges of the lake. Simply activate each barrel to collect them. Despite their size, they don’t actually weigh anything. Note that if you’re playing as a group, the barrels will have separate instances for each player. As such, everyone will need to collect all three barrels independently.

You can complete the quest without ever swimming in the lake. However, doing so does make travelling between barrels much quicker. Beware, however. High-level mirelurks populate the bottom of the lake, and they are difficult to see in the toxic water. Moreover, they will chase you out of the lake, so it may be better to avoid this shortcut!

Once you have all three barrels, you can either sink them in the lake (bear in mind the mirelurks), or alternatively take them to a site to dump. The exact site can vary; Hemlock Holes, Grafton Steel Yard, and Prickett’s Fort are all possibilities, but there may well be others. The quest rewards are standard; random ammo and aid items, and a random plan, armour piece, weapon, or mod. There is a chance you’ll receive a legendary weapon or armour part, however. You are also guaranteed Nuclear Material.
