Danganronpa and Zero Escape Creators Form Too Kyo Games, Four Projects in Development Already

The creators behind the beloved stories of the Danganronpa and Zero Escape series have formed a brand new studio called Too Kyo Games. The all-star cast of this new studio has been teased for a little bit now, getting various videos of blessings from renowned Japanese developers like Yoko Taro, Suda51, and many more. The team is already hard at work on four projects.

Before we get into what each of the four upcoming projects is, let’s take a look at this rockstar collection of famed Japanese developers who have crafted many phenomenal stories and games. Too Kyo Games is led by founder Kazutaka Kodaka, the creator of the popular Danganronpa series. The Director and Scenario Writer for the studio is Kotaro Uchikoshi, known as the creator of the Zero Escape series.

Masafumi Takada, who also worked on the Danganronpa series, is the composer for Too Kyo Games. Two more Danganronpa veterans, Rui Komatsuzaki and Shimadoriru, are the character designer/illustrator and illustrator/character designer, respectively. Takumi Nakazawa from Ever17 and Root Double is also a Director and Scenario Writer.

Lastly, Yoichiro Koizumi who worked on Ultra Despair Hagakure will be a novelist and scenario writer for Too Kyo Games. The studio is currently hard at work on four projects, two of which you can see concept art of above. The first is the featured image you can see above. Both Kodaka and Uchikoshi are working on that project together, known as Kyokugen X Zetsubo or Extreme X Despair.

The second project is a death game “of children, by children, for children.” No other information was given. The third project is actually an anime, made along with Studio Pierrot of Tokyo Ghoul and Boruto fame. Its art and style are also reminiscent of Danganronpa. The final project, which its concept art can also be seen above, is a dark fantasy mystery in the style of Tim Burton that is being co-developed with Spike Chunsoft.
