If you love battle royale games and are looking for something different to play on PlayStation 4, you will want to check out Darwin Project by Scavengers Studio. You might remember hearing about this game in 2017 when it was featured at E3 and PAX East. A year later, it was free to play in an early-access form, but wasn’t complete. Then, it sort of dropped off the map. But now, it is finally here in its finished form, and ready to play on PS4!
What to Know About Darwin Project on PS4
The original release date for Darwin Project on PS4 was January 13th. But that didn’t happen. Thankfully, the problems which prevented the timely launch were resolved rapidly, and it became available on the platform on January 14th. You can read a tweet about this below:
The text says, “We are sorry to announce that the defrost of the gates for the North America PS4 are going to take a little bit more time, and will be opening tomorrow, the 14th of January, at 11am EST. Thanks for your understanding and your patience!”
If you are wondering what the “defrost the gates” bit is about, it is a reference to the game’s wintry theme. The official description reads:
“Darwin Project takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic landscape in the Northern Canadian Rockies. As preparation for an impending Ice Age, a new project, half science experiment half live-entertainment, is launched. It’s called ‘Darwin Project’ and it challenges 10 participants to survive the cold and fight to the death in a treacherous arena.”
Sounds like more fun than global warming, that’s for sure. You can play Darwin Project on PS4, Xbox One or PC. Check it out, and keep up with our PlayStation news.
