Yesterday was one hell of a day for Destiny 2 Shadowkeep players. Bungie released the brand-new Launch Trailer for the upcoming expansion – Shadowkeep. It showcased a ton of amazing armor sets, weapons, emotes, and on top of all, “Welcome, we’ve been waiting.” As much as I want this to be Darkness speaking through our Ghost or a Darkness version of Ghost itself, I think it’s going to be something else and we’ll all going to be a little bit disappointed. Right after the release of this trailer, Bungie updated us that there will be 24-hour Maintenance for Destiny 2 and Destiny 1 before Shadowkeep.
Destiny 2 Maintenance Before Shadowkeep
Bungie Help on Twitter tweeted that before Shadowkeep on Monday, October 30, 2019, Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 servers will be going offline for 24 hours. The maintenance will conclude on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, with the release of Shadowkeep and New Light on all platforms. Here’s what Bungie said:
“In preparation for the launch of Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 will be taken offline for maintenance on Monday, 9/30. This maintenance will last for approximately 24 hours, and will end with the launch of Shadowkeep on 10/1.”
Destiny 2 Pre-load Now Available On Steam
Destiny 2 pre-load is now available on Steam. The estimated size of this pre-load is around 80 GB. Keep in mind that this pre-load is for base Destiny 2 game, not Shadowkeep. Shadowkeep content will come later in the coming days and with the update on Tuesday. Shadowkeep is just a week away from now releasing next week on Tuesday October 1, 2019.
Just like any other game on Steam, Destiny 2 will have Steam Achievements revealed with the updated game page earlier today. We don’t know if these achievements will be for base Destiny 2 or for Shadowkeep only at this point.
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be hitting PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, on October 1, 2019, and later in November on Google Stadia.
